International Women’s Day: helping women dress for success
Did you know that Wednesday, March 8th is International Women’s Day? And, this year the campaign theme is Be Bold For Change. At Catalina Consultants we are loving the bold work of Dress for Success, a volunteer-driven organization providing interview and employment support for disadvantaged women. As soon as we heard the news about this initiative, it was important we were a part of it.
This fantastic organisation has been helping disadvantaged women return to the workforce for nearly 10 years. How incredible is that? As an organisation, Dress for Success provides women with clothes for interviews and shares career advice tips and tricks. As well as teaching interview skills – something we’re proud to support and be a part of.
We’re a team of seven working women in the HR space AND we love clothes! We understand first-hand the importance of first impressions. Including how challenging and daunting an interview process can be, so it seems like a natural fit that we take a look inside our wardrobes and donate some of our favourite work clothes.

Merilyn founded Catalina Consultants in 2012 on the belief that all organisations, regardless of size, should have access to top quality bespoke HR services. She enjoys working closely with her clients and believes that the best results are built on relationships of rapport, trust and authenticity. Growing up, Merilyn had her sight set on stardom and dreamed of becoming an actor. She also sang and played the piano, but ended up studying accounting and HR. Whilst she hasn’t won her Grammy just yet, she still loves a good karaoke night. Merilyn loves to travel with her family, with South Africa being one of her most memorable destinations.
